Support policy
Each PHP branch receives two years of active support from its initial release, during which bugs and security issues are fixed and regular point releases are made. A further year of security-only support follows, ending on 31 December.
Notes
PHP branches receive two years of active support followed by one year of security-only support, both ending on 31 December. Because releases land in November or December, the effective lifetime is roughly three years and one month.
Note that bug fixes stop when active support ends. Being "still supported" during the security-only phase does not mean non-security defects will be addressed.
